Mustard Seed is a registered charity based right here in Helston. They run a number of projects to help some of the most vulnerable people in our local community.
Each branch of their work aims to show love in practical ways — helping people build confidence, learn skills, look after themselves and those around them, and take steps towards a more independent life.
It's kind, hands-on, local work. And it makes a real difference to families and individuals across the Lizard peninsula every single week.
What Mustard Seed does
Mustard Seed runs several projects, all rooted in the same idea — showing kindness in real, practical ways.
The Foodbank
Part of the Trussell Trust network, providing emergency food and support to local people facing hardship across Helston and the Lizard peninsula.
The Open Door
A warm, welcoming space open three days a week — somewhere to drop in, have a chat, share a cuppa and find a friendly face.
Practical support
Volunteers help people build confidence and skills, so they can take steps towards a more independent, hopeful life.
Why we support them
We're a family-run team, and Helston has been home to us for years. We see first-hand the difference Mustard Seed makes to people who are having a hard time — often quietly, and often when no one else can help. Supporting them is our small way of saying thank you to the town and community that supports us.
